How do I get the alarm clock symbol of my Samsung Solstice screen?

I got a Samsung Solstice recently and I set an alarm on it. The blue clock symbol popped up when the alarm went off. When I turned the alarm off it stayed there. So I deleted the alarm all together and it still stayed there.
