I have the samsung impression and sites say all I have to do is set it as a ring tone. But I go to the songs, which are in MP3 format, the "Set As" button is grayed out and I am unable to click it. Is it even possible to make music a ring tone? How to make music a ring tone for the Samsung Impression?http://www.myventones.com
Ventones is 100% free or you can upload your own ringtones on their site from songs on your cpuHow to make music a ring tone for the Samsung Impression?Go to CNET.com then to their Downloads section and get a program called Power MP3 Cutter. The trial limits you 30 second clips, but the Impression limits ringtones based on file size (300kb or about 17-20 seconds). This sounds bad but how many of us wait 20 seconds to answer our phone. Samsung did this so that any file this small is automatically categorized as a ringtone and it does not get mixed up with your other music. Power MP3 Cutter is real easy to use. You just open the file of the MP3 and highlight the section of the song you wish to use as a ringtone then click 'Cut' and choose where to save your new ringtone. It tells you the length and size of the highlighted section and you can play the entire song with the program so that you exactly cut out the section you want as a ringtone. This is what I have been doing to make tones for the impression. Honestly, I would do this anyway if there was no limit because I would end up answering the phone after just the first few notes of a song if I were able to select an entire song, so I crop out a small section that sounds cool and gets straight to the point. To answer your question more directly, you can not make an MP3 a ringtone unless it is smaller than 300kb, which is highly unlikely, so setting an entire song is out of the question. You have to use a program like this one to create a smaller file of the song you want to use. I hope this helps. How to make music a ring tone for the Samsung Impression?i really like myventones.com that's how i get most of my ringtones.
