How is the battery life on the Samsung Moment?

I'm thinking about getting the Samsung Moment and would like to know if it is worth it. I like everything about it, but I keep hearing about the battery life, and how it doesn't last past five hours. How long does it really last? (using it heavily) If I do get it, is it possible to use it heavily and maximize the battery life to a point where it would last all day on a single charge? How is the battery life on the Samsung Moment?Depends on what apps you have running and how many apps you need running. The first thing I did was download an task killer (several are free) they will help keep your battery life by eliminating unnecessary programs from running in the background. Also make sure that your wifi and blue tooth are off (unless you need to use them) as they will also drain the battery. Also, they did a recent update to the phone that improved the battery life (I also did a conditioning excerise to my phone that I read about on a blog, charge up the battery and let it drain completely twice). It will last pretty much all day without heavy usage of apps. I would suggest having a car charger and usb charger handy. I keep it charged up when not inuse. How is the battery life on the Samsung Moment?
Well. Basically I had the moment for. About almost a week and I love it and to be honest I love it for the most part. It has a nice keyboard and it has also a keyboard that's touch screen with haptic feedback meaning it vibrates when you touch it when you call someone also the main thing I would coomplain about is the battery life I think maybe since the many widgets and music I have may take up the battery but I think its still lagy i m still in school so I would say it'll last you to 5 maybe 7th period but anyways if you would turn of the gps and wifi same as ipod it will save more battery life also if you get this app called advance task killer which would help you with battery life also I would like get the battery widget to let you know how much life you have left oyah

ps I'm typing this on the momentHow is the battery life on the Samsung Moment?Depends in the battery you get!

Normaly phones are 1-3 days USED ALOT

or 3-5days USED NOT ALOTHow is the battery life on the Samsung Moment?
it only lasts for a Moment. How is the battery life on the Samsung Moment?5 hours is pretty optimistic for "Heavy" use, to be honest... I had one for a couple weeks... Now they are supposed to be pushing an update this week, I believe, and hopefully that will address many of the issues... I'd watch Sprint's forums to see if the problems were resolved... The worst part is the phone drop from 100% to 15%, sometimes in 45 minutes or less... then will sit there for hours before dropping to 14%... At that instant, your screen goes to half-brightness, and there is NOTHING you can do to get it back to full brightness, and while the AMOLED display is GREAT indoors, even at half brightness inside it's ok... but it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to see outdoors, even with light cloud cover unless it's at full brightness.

My main concern is it took Samsung MONTHS to fix some pretty serious bugs on the phone... Android 2.x has been promised by Samsung/Sprint, but to be honest, I would not expect Samsung to release any further Android updates. I'm sure they are going to "wash their hands" of this phone once Android 2.0 or 2.1 is released for it. It's just the way Samsung is... Produce a phone, release it, go onto the next model.

Android is a rapidly evolving open source operating system, and open source doesn't operate on the "release a new version every year or two" model. Open Source is, and always has been based on the model of "Release early, and release often" Lots of small incremental changes released in rapid succession, responsive to user's requests, desires, needs... Look at the increase from 3 to 5 "home screens" in Android 2.1 from Android 2.0. Added API's in 2.1 that allow Google Earth, voice navigation, voice dictation, maps over-lays etc... All added from Android 2.0 to 2.1, and Google called 2.1 a "minor update/bug fix" over Android 2.0

The beginning of last year Android was at 1.1 just during 2009 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.0.1, and 2.1 were released... Do you want to be stuck on Android 2.1 on your Moment when the rest of the world is running Android 3.6 or 4.0 next year at this time?

If you have a really popular phone, you don't have as much to be concerned about, Motorola Droid has an active developer base making 3 rd party ROM's (I'm running a hacked Android 2.1 ROM on my Droid right now.) HTC has an active developer community at xda-developers.org and will have updated ROM images available for the forseeable future for any HTC product that has root access, but Samsung hasn't generated that much interest in the hacker community, so you might not be able to depend on them for updates, should Samsung/Sprint decide "2.1 is far enough up the ladder, want something newer, buy a new phone."
