Does the samsung behold need internet in order to work?

Well i was thinking about getting the samsung behold from t-mobile but i dont want to pay the $35 for internet becouse i dont really need it. I was wondering if the phone needs to have internet in order to work as a proper phone, like to make calls or text. No, you don't need the Internet. I have the phone myself and I absolutely LOVE it! I'm thinking about getting Internet on it but I'm not in dire need of it, so I'm in no rush. If you plan on getting it though, I recommend getting a screen protector for it.
