$28
The trick here is that a pizza with twice the diameter has FOUR times the area.
I'll assume that the pizza is round. The area of a circle is pi x r^2. Pi is a constant, so only the radius of the pizza matters.
For the 8" pizza we have a radius of 4. For the 16" pizza we have a radius of 8. 4 squared = 16 and 8 squared = 64. Since 64 = 4 x 16, the price is 4 x $7 = $28.
8", r = 4, area = pi x 16, price = $7
16", r = 8, area = pi x 64, price = $28
To visualize this, imagine a circle drawn with chalk that is 16 inches wide. Now, place two 8 inch plates so that their rims touch and both are inside of the circle. They will stretch from one side of the circle to the other--but they will NOT fill the circle. In fact, they will only cover half of the circle.Math Word Problem!!!?
I would say 14 Dollars because all you really have to do is double the price just like you are doubling the size. So in my mind they would have the same price per square inch.Math Word Problem!!!?
i would say like 14$
cuz if an 8 inch cost 7$ twice the pizza should be twice the price
14 dollars????
