How do I download pictures from my samsung onto my computor?

I have a samsung A737 and I am trying to downloads pictures and videos from my phone onto the computor, I have hooked the phone up to my comp but I can't seem to be abe to download them. And when I go to the at%26amp;t website all they tell me is how to buy graphics.
